Car Detailing is more than just washing a car.

Detailing is all about cleaning, correcting and protecting a car from top to bottom, inside and out.

There is so much involved in car detailing. I’ve broken it down into 3 different categories but each category has multiple areas to explore.

Car Washing

People that are unfamiliar with detailing and valeting will often believe that car washing is all that we do.

Yes, it’s a big part, but every step in every procedure that a detailer follows goes over and above what the average person would be willing to do.

Detailers care about using the proper wash techniques and products that will help maintain your car and prolong its life span.

Paint Correction

All of those light scratches and swirls that you see on your car from years of improper washing, you can make most of them disappear with one simple process.

Paint correction is the act of removing imperfections from the topmost layer of a car’s paintwork.

There is some prep work that needs to be done before-hand, but paint correction is mostly seen as a “cut and compound” using a machine polisher.

Considering there’s no permanent defects, a good detailer, with time may be able to make the paintwork of your car look factory new again.

The third and final part of detailing is finishing and protecting your car.

After all of that hard work that you just put in cleaning and correcting your vehicle, you’re going to want to keep that finish for as long as possible.

Detailers use a whole host of products that will help protect and prolong the life span of your vehicle.

Depending on your budget, there are many different waxes, sealants, ceramic coatings, and even clear bras.

As you learn more about each product type you’ll be able to determine whether they’re worth it or just another product with false promises.
